I’m Emma, a potter originally from Bridgend (Pen-y-bont), South Wales, but now based in Macclesfield. 

My path to become a potter was a bit of an unexpected one. I studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, and then went on to become a Science Teacher for several years. Whilst teaching I started throwing at 7 Limes Pottery, finding slowness and calmness on the wheel, a good antidote to the fast pace of teaching life.  

From there I was trained by Sam Andrew, and then joined a studio collective, learning and working alongside many talented throwers. 

I've set up my own studio in Macclesfield, mainly throwing small batches of pottery on the wheel. I’m currently teaching workshops and working on a series of commissions for small businesses.
